My name is Travis Gilbert. I am happily married to Dianna, and we have been joyfully blessed with three boys: Luke, Noah and Ethan. Born and raised in small-town Indiana. Lived for an enjoyable while in beautiful northern Virgina. Garland, TX is now home, and there I am privileged to be on the pastoral staff of the Rodgers Baptist Church, an independent Baptist congregation.
This blog is a running commentary of my views on topics and issues that resonate with me. This means my blog-posts will normally be focused on theological, cultural, political, and sports topics. The views expressed on this blog are my own, and do not necessarily reflect the opinions, views, and positions of my family and/or church.
I hold to a high view of scripture, meaning that I believe the Bible to be the inspired, inerrant, word of God. It is my goal to know it, understand it, and apply it. On this blog I have listed links to articles, websites, videos, and books that I have found to be profitable and/or interesting. Just because I have linked to something does not mean that I agree with every position therein affirmed. I have made it a practice to read, not only the people with whom I am in agreement, but people with whom I do not uniformly agree; by such a practice I have been challenged and sharpened. Gauge what I believe and hold true by what I write and post; not by what those who are linked here write and post.
I encourage you to comment on all that you read here, especially if you disagree with me. I will be respectful in my posts, and I expect you to be respectful in your comments. Just be mindful of the One Rule. The One Rule is to be respectful with your rants, ruminations, and observations. I really am not concerned if your opinion is opposed to mine, but I am concerned with your attitude of expression.
